So I decided to switch over the pistol grip and handguard
on my AMD-65. In addition to being ugly, I found the wood grips very uncomfotable. Also, the front vertical grip prevented
the use of 30-rd. magazines as it got in the way when you try to lock the mag into the well. I went with Tapco parts as didn't
want to break the bank. $10 for the grip and $27 for the handguard. I don't really like the look of the Galil-style handguard,
but my choices were limited to one piece handguards unless I want to buy a new gas tube... which I didn't. My main reason
for wanting to switch was so I could use the 30 rd. mags which I have many of vs. only 1 20-rd mag.
I think it looks much better now. No more scrap wood pistol
grips.
